Grand Funk Railroad performed Friday night April 24, 1998 at the Trump Marina in Atlantic City New Jersey. The concert was fantastic and the Roadkill group had a strong showing. The above billboard was on Rt. 30 heading into Atlantic City.

Edgar Winter opened...lots of noise and a few good songs...an over zealous guitarist that I couldn't hear about 3/4's of the time. REO was next...sounded much better and put on a good show....but, then GFR hit the stage...they sounded the best...you could hear Marks guitar and all the vocals....even from our lousy seats. They played a reduced set...left out a few songs, such as Time Machine, Shinin' On, etc...

They opened the doors at 7 PM and I promptly placed my Elect GFR to the RnR HOF sign up book at the shirt sale booth (I got about 200 signatures). The theatre is very nice, kind of like the Beacon, but nicer. I did not see Sunny or Kuch all night. The concert started at 7:30 PM...they did the usual set. Of the three shows Liz & I saw, this one sounded the best...the sound was just right and the theatre acoustics were great. Everyone in the band was much more animated tonight, even Mel. Marks guitar was awesome...as Liz says, it sounds like its singing.
